Tickit's product is a data collection platform which takes the form of surveys, assessments, questionnaires, and screeners for the healthcare and education sectors. Based on Tickit's unique design system, Digital Empathy, the Tickit platform engages users, builds trust, encourages them to keep going, and helps them to feel confident and empowered in sharing their information - helping them to get the help they need. Digital Empathy applies the core principles of empathy - compassion, cognition, and emotion - in designing technology to enhance the user experience. By removing communication barriers with respondents, the organizations that care for them can collect high quality data, enabling them to better support their populations.

As the principle UX designer, my work on Tickit includes developing the conceptual and aesthetic framework for the Digital Empathy user experience. This includes defining principles of Digital Empathy (engage, entrust, encourage, empower), describing the user personas and needs of those who would be using a Tickit survey, what a Digitally Empathetic user flow looks like, and the components of the user interface that contribute to an empathetic experience. Working with clients whose populations have different needs, I ensure that Tickit tools are designed to be culturally relevant, that stigmatizing questions are posed in a sensitive way, that literacy levels are appropriate for the focus population, and that the design is accessible.
