Tuning the Urban Aviary

Tuning the Urban Aviary is a microcosm of urban soundscape ecology; how do birds change their behaviours and calls in response to increasing levels of city noise? Some birds chirp at business people on their phones while other birds squawk at cars. This simulation illustrates birds reacting to anthropogenic noises, which influence their calls and contribute to a busy soundscape. At what point are natural sounds considered synthetic, and vice versa?
